DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Wholesale

I’m super excited about today’s review because I’ll be having a look at a few of the latest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress. This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as luxurious as it is supportive.
To determine how well this hybrid lives up to this goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what sort of sleeper could benefit from it .
Read on below for my full review of the DreamCloud mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Wholesale

CONSTRUCTION

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I’m stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact with one another.

Cover: The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.

Foam Layers:  Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. When these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck at the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.

These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the construction. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them allow for steady air flow.

Foundation Layer:  A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and giving a solid foundation for the entire.

FIRMNESS

After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of this quilted cover and top layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.

At this point I’d like to remember that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise. As opposed to giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their view as well.

DreamCloud-Firmness-Test

As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of this DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the business standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s clear the this mattress is really firm.

Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remaining testers that it’s definitely a good bed. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you out of the bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Wholesale

Instead of simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map in addition to the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the effects on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).

Back:  Once in my back, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the mattress whatsoever. The quilted cover supplied quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.

Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. However, I felt encouraged and the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.

Stomach:  Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to transition across these places with relative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Wholesale

MOTION TRANSFER

If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to know what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other.

To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.

Dreamcloud-Motion-Transfer-test

The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.

If purchasing a new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying”on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.

  • 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
  • 50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.

While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a broad assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers particularly. Dreamcloud Mattress Wholesale

If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, then it’s going to be crucial that you consider the quantity of edge support it’ll provide.

I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.

Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle . Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing too spectacular.

Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam border support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.

In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
