DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Abu Dhabi
I’m super excited about today’s review because I’ll be having a look at one of the newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress. This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it is supportive.
To see how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what kind of sleeper could benefit from it .

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different substances at play here, I am stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover: The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers: beneath the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. When these segments are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to stress, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these small ventilations promotes even more cooling.
These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the whole.
After having a look at the construction of this DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a nice lift from springs.
At this time I’d like to note that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise. As opposed to giving just my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their view as well. This gives you a better sense of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the business standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it is apparent that this mattress is really firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a good bed. While you’ll feel some slight sinking out of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel as if you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Rather than simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud for you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can see the effects on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once on my back, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed whatsoever. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. However, I still felt supported and the very best foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought that the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Abu Dhabi
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you’ll want to know what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress into another.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I’d still look at the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or placing”on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a broad assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular. Dreamcloud Mattress Abu Dhabi
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and wish to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be crucial for you to think about the quantity of edge support it will provide.
I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle . Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, together with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.
A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
Shipping: Free, comes compressed in a box.
Bonus: One free cleaning with purchase.
