DreamCloud Mattress Review Where Is Dreamcloud Mattress Manufactured

I am super excited about the current review since I’ll be having a look at a few of the latest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress. This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils to get a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it is supportive.
To see how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what sort of sleeper would benefit from it .

CONSTRUCTION

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the different substances at play here, I am stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact with one another.

Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.

Foam Layers:  Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so that you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.

Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for steady air flow.

Foundation Layer:  A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the most important function of cradling the pocketed coils and giving a sound foundation for the entire.

FIRMNESS

After having a look at the building of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a nice lift from the springs.

At this time I’d like to remember that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion also.

DreamCloud-Firmness-Test

As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of this DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the industry standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s clear the this mattress is pretty firm.

Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remaining testers that it’s definitely a good bed. As you’ll feel some slight sinking out of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of the bed and make you feel as if you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Where Is Dreamcloud Mattress Manufactured

PRESSURE MAP

Instead of simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach.

Back:  Once in my back, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed whatsoever. The quilted cover supplied quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.

Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. However, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.

Stomach:  Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and out of the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to transition across these places with relative ease. Where Is Dreamcloud Mattress Manufactured

THE MATTRESS WITH A 365 NIGHT TRIAL & FOREVER WARRANTY

If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you’ll want to know what it will feel like when the other person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.

To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.

Dreamcloud-Motion-Transfer-test

The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still look at the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great alternative for couples.

If purchasing a new bed, most individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”to” the mattress or laying”on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four chunks of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.

  • 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
  • 50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 100 pound medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.

While you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular. Where Is Dreamcloud Mattress Manufactured

EDGE SUPPORT

If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, then it’s going to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it will provide.

I am especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to meet the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.

Lying on my back, I felt supported at the edge of the bed as I did at the middle . Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.

Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.

A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
