DreamCloud Mattress Review Mattress Dreamcloud Singapore
I am super excited about the current review because I’ll be taking a look at a few of the newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress. This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as luxurious as it is supportive.
To see how well this hybrid lives up to this goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what sort of sleeper would benefit from it .

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different substances at play here, I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers: Below the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck at the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the entire.
After having a look at the building of this DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.
At this time I’d like to remember that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my view on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their view also.
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is apparent the this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it’s definitely a solid bed. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you out of the bed and make you feel as if you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Instead of just describing the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once on my back, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and buttocks. However, I felt supported and the very best foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach: Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and out of the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to transition across these positions with relative ease. Mattress Dreamcloud Singapore
If you plan on sharing your bed with a spouse , you will want to learn what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I would still look at the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When buying a new bed, most individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”to” the mattress or laying”on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit on the wrapped coils and texture fantastic support. This combo will interest a broad assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers particularly. Mattress Dreamcloud Singapore
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and wish to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, then it’s going to be crucial that you consider the quantity of edge support it will provide.
I am especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to meet the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle . Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
