DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Kuwait

I’m super excited about today’s review because I’ll be taking a look at one of the newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress. This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils to get a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it is supportive.
To see how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what sort of sleeper would benefit from it .

CONSTRUCTION

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different substances at play here, I am stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact together.

Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.

Foam Layers:  beneath the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of these three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these small ventilations promotes even more cooling.

These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for continuous air flow.

Foundation Layer:  A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and giving a sound foundation for the entire.

FIRMNESS

After having a look at the building of this DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.

At this point I’d like to note that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise. As opposed to giving just my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion also. This will give you a better sense of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.

DreamCloud-Firmness-Test

As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s apparent that this mattress is pretty firm.

I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remaining testers that it is definitely a solid bed. As you’ll feel some slight sinking out of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel as if you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Kuwait

Rather than just describing the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map in addition to the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).

Back:  Once in my back, my weight was evenly distributed across the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover supplied quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.

Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and buttocks. However, I felt encouraged and the very best foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this place.

Stomach:  Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Kuwait

THE MATTRESS WITH A 365 NIGHT TRIAL & FOREVER WARRANTY

If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you’ll want to know what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.

To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.

Dreamcloud-Motion-Transfer-test

The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I would still look at the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.

SINKAGE TEST

When buying a new mattress, most individuals want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying”on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.

  • 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
  • 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
  • 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.

As you’re going to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit the wrapped coils and texture fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular. Dreamcloud Mattress Kuwait

If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and wish to use the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it will provide.

I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to meet the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.

Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle . Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too spectacular.

Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.

A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
