DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Philippines
I am super excited about today’s review since I’ll be taking a look at a few of the newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress. This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it is supportive.
To determine how well this hybrid lives up to this goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what kind of sleeper would benefit from it .

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different substances at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: beneath the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to stress, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the construction. The coils also assist in regulating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the whole.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture. I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from springs.
At this point I’d like to note that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise. Rather than giving just my view on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion as well.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s apparent the this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the remaining testers that it’s definitely a good bed. As you’ll feel some slight sinking out of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Rather than simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the effects on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once on my back, my weight was evenly distributed across the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and buttocks. However, I still felt encouraged and the very best foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach: Switching over to my stomach, I thought that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to transition across these places with relative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Philippines
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you will want to know what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress into another.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 pounds. Steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying”on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are meant to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you’re going to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular. Dreamcloud Mattress Philippines
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial that you consider the quantity of edge support it will provide.
I am particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle . Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, together with the polyfoam border support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
